Mary Ann was awarded the Scholarship in 2006 and grew up volunteering at the Holthouse Boys and Girls Club in Houston. She overcame many obstacles and was the first in her family to graduate college. Losing her father at 14 was very difficult for her, but she followed her mother’s advice to be strong and stay focused on her education. She has made both of her parents and The Steve Francis Foundation very proud with her success in college and pursuing her career aspirations.
